Meet the A Team

Craig and Jaynie Hudgell, owners of Absolute Insurance Ltd, understand that success in any venture requires hard work, dedication, teamwork and vision.  Both were New Zealand champions in swimming, with Jaynie competing at the 1972 Olympics, and the 1974 Christchurch Commonwealth Games, where she won Gold and Bronze for New Zealand.

They have applied the success principles learnt through their elite sporting achievements, and running a number of highly successful businesses, to their Absolute Insurance business, which they started as a small family run business, in 2004.

They are dedicated, along with their well-trained team of Advisers, to educating New Zealanders about the importance of Health and Risk Insurance, and believe that the best time to take out cover is right now!

Craig and Jaynie are committed to helping local communities, and sporting organizations throughout New Zealand, through the Absolute Insurance Community Insure™ program, and are strong supporters and contributors to a number of worthy charitable organizations throughout the country.

Craig and Jaynie live in Auckland, and have two adult children, both of whom work for Absolute Insurance, as well as two energetic grandsons.

Nearly 14 years in the industry and we still get that sense of fulfilment every day assisting people to manage their personal risk profiles. We work as a team and pride ourselves on our work ethic and our comprehensive knowledge of insurance products on the market.

We are especially passionate about helping New Zealand farmers. We started off as humble sharemilkers in our early 20’s to managing our first farm from scratch in our mid 20’s and then settling on our diary conversion in South Canterbury until our late 40’s. This experience has given us extensive knowledge of the farming industry so we can provide the best possible service to our clients.

We enjoy travelling, both overseas and around New Zealand in our motorhome, and enjoy cooking and sampling great food and wine wherever go.  We are proud grandparents to three grandchildren.

Unexpected and terrible stuff can happen at any time and having lived and experienced the Canterbury Earthquakes has brought that fact home to me, my family and my friends.

I’ve had the privilege of helping New Zealand families protect their most valuable assets – themselves, since 2004.

I was brought up on dairy farms in the Waikato, Manawatu and Canterbury and completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Lincoln University before joining Absolute Insurance in 2004 as an Adviser.  I have been a proud member of the team ever since.

I am happily married to Ellie and have three fantastic pre-teen and teenage kids.  We love most sports and enjoy travelling together throughout New Zealand and the world and creating memories.

I’d love the opportunity to use my passion and experience to help you, your family and your business protect your most valuable assets.

Life doesn’t always go as planned, I should know, my family and I fought cancer with my beautiful late wife for nearly 6 years. We were fortunate enough to have the right cover in place to allow us to make the most of that time.

Because of this experience I feel I have an advantage when I sit down with my clients, I can make recommendations that really allow clients to sleep better, giving them the knowledge that they have the best protection for themselves and their family.

I have a huge passion for golf and even have a Diploma in turf culture. In my spare time I am either playing golf or watching rugby. I also have four daughters and five grandchildren (including 4 boys!).

With 10 years’ experience in the industry I pride myself on making insurance understandable for families. Sitting down with a family over a cup of tea to plan their financial security in a simplified manner allows my clients to have a thorough understanding of their cover.

Being a family man with a beautiful wife and four children I follow a client-focused approach to ensure each of my clients gets cover that is specific to their circumstances. I am South Island based and have clients from Christchurch all the way down to Bluff.

In my spare time I enjoy aerial photography and drone fishing! I also run the Junior Youth Group in my hometown.

With over 5 years of experience in the industry I am proud to be a part of such a professional and innovative team at Absolute Insurance.

Having begun in a financial adviser role I now run marketing and development within the company. My passion lies in sport, having represented New Zealand at three Olympic Games. I am most proud of our Community Insure initiative which gives thousands of dollars back to community groups and organisations.

In my spare time I am running around after my two toddlers, baking healthy treats and practicing yoga.

I have been a part of the Absolute Insurance team since it began back in 2004, supporting my husband Andy who also works for Absolute Insurance, while also raising our three children.

We are a sports mad family that live in the East Coast Bays of Auckland’s North Shore. We love the warmer weather and the sandy beaches.

After living through the Christchurch Earthquakes which destroyed our home and losing my mother to a level four brain tumour in the same year, we realised that life is valuable and sometimes cut short. Having secure insurance in place was always important to us but now it is more personal.

I am extremely proud to be an adviser with Absolute Insurance, helping clients secure all their insurance needs, for now and into their families future.

I am a happily married mother of 3 grown children and live on a lifestyle property with a menagerie of rescue animals. Originally from Australia I moved here in 2010 with my Kiwi husband and family. I grew up on the Gold Coast and had a very successful hairdressing career for 16 years before moving into the insurance industry for Suncorp Australia. I worked for Suncorp and AA Insurance for 13 years and as part of this I was fortunate enough to be involved in the rebuild of Christchurch after the earthquakes. I found this to be the most rewarding period of my career so far as I have a genuine love of helping people in their time of need. My love of people has led me to begin studying psychology and sociology through Massey University and I firmly believe the more you understand people the better you can assess their needs and provide advice and assistance that will grow with them through the years.

My family is the most important thing in my world and we are very close and love nothing more than spending time in the outdoors together. I believe in my role as an adviser, I can give solid advice that can provide a safety net for people and give security and certainty when they need it most.
